Nancy H. Hornberger is professor of education at the University of Pennsylvania, USA. She investigates language and education in multilingual and multicultural settings, combining methods and perspectives from educational anthropology, linguistic anthropology, and sociolinguistics. She is especially interested in researching educational policy and practice for Indigenous and immigrant language groups. As a visiting professor, she has taught, lectured, and advised on her fields of expertise in South America (Peru, Bolivia, Ecuador, Paraguay and Brazil), as well as in other countries such as China, Singapore, South Africa, and Sweden.
